Whichever way you want to look at it, a trillion is a pretty phenomenal number. Even more so when, according to figures from the Bank of England, consumer debt in the United Kingdom has reached the £1 trillion mark – that’s the equivalent of more than £17,000 for every man, woman and child.
With such a high level of borrowing, it comes as no surprise that more and more of us are finding it difficult to meet our financial commitments. But if you are in debt, what can you do to get out?
