Cold Weather Payment
The Cold Weather Payment is a payment which is made to help with heating costs during periods of especially cold weather.
The country is divided into local areas (normally determined by postcode), each one covered by a local weather station at which temperatures are forecast and recorded. In order to receive a Cold Weather Payment, the average temperature in your area must be equal to or below 0 degrees Celsius, for a period of 7 consecutive days or more.
