Child Benefit
Child Benefit is a benefit which is payable to anyone who is responsible for looking after a child under the age of 16, or under the age or 19 if they are in full-time, non-advanced education.
If you qualify for Child Benefit, you will receive a payment for each child for whom you are responsible, with a higher amount payable for your eldest eligible child. You do not have to be the parent of the child to claim Child Benefit, although you must be responsible for providing for the child.
